Dreams are the images, mental pictures, thoughts, and feelings that are experienced by an individual, while fast asleep. The subconscious desires, wishes and fears of a person come to the surface level and are felt through dreams. As Sigmund Freud, the great dream symbologist, and the founder of the Psycho-Analytic movement stated, dreams are the way we release and come to terms with our innermost desires. The scientific and detailed study of dreams is known as oneirology.

Dreams are categorized into several types on the basis of the opinions of several psychologists and dream analysts. They are classified into daydreams, lucid dreams, Nightmares, recurring dreams, healing dreams and telepathic dreams. Apparently women have more dreams when they’re pregnant.
Day dreams are the dreams which we all go through and experience one time or the other. It teaches us more about traditional dreams, and is a state of consciousness, where we are drifted away from reality.
Lucid dreams are ones which are controllable like day dreams, as we choose to dream about them.

Telepathic dreams involve the existence of ethereal creatures and the communication between the living and the dead. These are really spiritual experiences where one can have a reunion of two worlds.

Nightmares are horrifying dreams where the person usually feels a jitter of fear and gets up screaming.

Recurring dreams are dreams that a person experiences more than one time.
