Sleep is a time when one allows the body to relax and rejuvenate itself to work again the next day. However, the mind keeps on ticking and working without ever taking a break. Even if we sleep, our mind never does. That’s the precise reasons why we experience dreams and nightmares while asleep.

Dreams are the thoughts, feelings, mental images that one experiences when he or she is asleep. They are known to be an outlet to your innermost desires, which you cannot otherwise express because of sociological pressures. Sleep Dreams can be classified into various types like lucid dreams, telepathic dreams, nightmares, recurring dreams, Healing dreams, Prophetic dreams, Epic dreams, so on and so forth.

These dreams are guided by our subconscious, and can have positive as well as negative effects on our body and mind. There are many dream symbologists stating theories about dreams being an outlet to our innermost yearnings. However, some refute these theories, and form other ones like the Activation Synthesis theories, which state that we tend to join various situations and form a chain of stories around them to from a long one, and we experience it in the form of a dream.
