Dreams have always been something of a common word for those who want to achieve something. These types of dreams can either be achieved or not depending on the individual.
A dream has been defined as an aspiration or a will to succeed. This can also be the images, thoughts or emotions seen during sleep.
These so called “mysterious instances” have often baffled an ordinary man, even the experts as to what messages do these dreams impart. In the end, it always depends on the dreamer whether to do something about it or not.
Patterns can be read. Some common images seen in dreams may have different meanings to the person. In some cases, this could pose as a sign whether an upcoming activity will go smoothly, or otherwise.
In order to become an achiever, one must act because an undertaking will not happen if no one works on it. Whether the undertaking succeeds or not, it is the effort that counts.

Everybody dreams but most, if not all the time, we don’t remember clearly what dreamt about the night before and we grapple as we try to find the meanings behind the vague images of our dreams.
In the end, only you can know the meaning of your dreams.
Experts and friends may give you some advice based on what they know but there are limitations behind what they see behind the symbols that you see. We have that inner spark of truth and recognition on these images that we see in our sleep, and that will help us determine what we need to do and do something about our dreams.
Dream dictionaries can be seen online but it is always advisable for you to practice caution before believing what you read. At the end of this road, it always pays to talk to someone who understands what you are going through like your family and friends.
We’ve heard it time and time again, dream experts have been telling us that we should write down our dreams and try to analyze them because it might give us incling as to how we are living our lives right now and the directions that we may need to take in order to have a fulfilling life.
Harvard Medical School Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Dr. Deirdre Barrett said that only the dreamer can interpret the types of dreams that he or she had encountered last night. At the end of the day, there’s no such thing as universal interpretations of such. The personal factor of the dreams means that the dreamer can have that insight and it is up to him or her to act on those insights that could change their lives.
Barrett said that dreams can help one “think outside the box,” which could mean that problems could be solved in many ways.
As the experts have stated it, dreams that are explained could help the dreamer solve his or her problems in life. In fact, these dreams are personal to the dreamer that the interpretations could be different and acting out on the solutions could make significant life changes. However, it is common for dreamers to forget the images they dreamt last night as soon as they wake up.
Here are some tips on retaining the memory of dreams:
• Remember: Short-term memory usually occurs on images seen on dreams. Experts say that is best to take a bit of time closing the eyes and make a mental picture of the images seen in the dream the night before.
• Write: Immediately write down on a pad placed near the bed those images dreamt. Be more specific in writing the descriptions by going beyond single words.
• Review: Check out if the terms written down matches the ones dreamt the night before.

Having sexual dreams is not something to be afraid of. In fact, this should be considered normal especially if we are at the age of maturity. For male teenagers, they usually experience their first wet dream and for female teens, an orgasm may be experienced after a fantastic dream.
Experts have said that the sexual dreams have meanings because they usually send messages based on our daily lives. It may be because we’ve felt repressed lately that we need that certain release.
Here are some common sexual dreams and their meanings:
• With a famous person: Having a sexual encounter with someone famous means that you have that particular desire in life that you need to achieve.
• With a former lover: Unresolved issues may have brewed between you and your older flame. It could only simply mean that you miss him or her and that moving on to another relationship may still be hard.
• With a person of the same sex: This doesn’t necessarily mean that you already have homosexual tendencies. This is more on the curiosity on something that is beyond, something that you’ve never done before.

• With an unlikely person: This could be a random dream but doesn’t necessarily mean that you secretly liked that person.

Each one of us experiences dreams during our sleep. It would be unusual if we haven’t encountered such in our lifetime. However, there’s always that constant wonderment as to what these dreams mean and how these affect our daily lives.

Holos University psychologist and professor Marcia Emery explained that dreams most of the time provide insight to things that we go through in our daily lives. In a way, she believes that these messages depicted by the images serve as insights on how we can foretell the future, overcome personal obstacles and even deal with health problems.
Most of the time our dreams come in symbolic forms according to Emery. However, there may be others that can be literal in nature.
She cited one example: falling teeth. She said that this represents a sense of worry about the dream’s personal appearance or how others perceive him or her. Another definition would be for the dreamer’s lack of self-confidence which needs resolving in waking life. Another dream may be of wearing pajamas in public for example at work which means that the dreamer feels exposed or vulnerable in real life.
Several ideas were shared during the recently concluded International Association for the Study of Dreams conference. Emery was one of the participants of the event attended by fellow psychologists and other professionals.

We sleep and dream of several symbols – may it be animals, people, buildings, water and even food. When we wake up, we wonder why the dream was dreamt and how it affects our lives in the long run.
Here are some common dream symbols that have been interpreted by researchers:
• People. It basically symbolizes our personalities. When we dream of other people, we need to determine what outstanding qualities that are common between ourselves and those other people.
• Animals. Symbolizes our daily habits
• House. It symbolizes our state of mind. One example is that when we dream of churches, we have spiritual concerns to attend to.
• Water. This is a symbol of our life experiences. If we glide through the water with relative ease then we have successfully managed our life for now. However, if we dream of drowning, then there are experiences that overwhelm us and we need to address it.
• Food. This symbolizes our knowledge. Are we learning things that would improve our life? Or is it the other way around?
• School. Our attention is geared toward learning. Learning is a never ending process so even if we actually finished our studies, there is still a lot of life experiences that we need to learn as we go along.
The meaning of these dreams may affect you or not. In the end, you are the steward of your own life.

Edgar Cayce, a popular U.S.-based psychic, has come up with his interpretation of some common dreams that we experience.
1. Vehicular problems: This dream usually occurs to people who don’t know how to drive. The dreamer may find the vehicle not having brakes or about to collide with another vehicle or about to fall off a cliff. The dream serves as a symbol of a person’s life path. According to Cayce, you may be encountering some events in your life that you could not control.
2. Flunking in exams: This dream usually happens to those who’ve been out of school for a long period of time. The dream may include not finishing the test on time, getting lost in the school grounds and not having the necessary requirements before taking the exam. Dream interpreters said that this has something to do with having frustrations about not achieving a goal or fear of not being accepted by the public.
3. Death or illness: This means that you have been hurt emotionally or fearful of being hurt in the long run.
4. Being chased around: This usually happens when you are stressed. Running from something dangerous in the dream is our instinct reaction to the threats of the world. We tend to avoid confronting the situation instead.
5. Missing teeth: It means that we are conscious about our looks and afraid of being ridiculed.
