Consistent bedtime routines aid in getting sweet dreams for kids. This was revealed on a study conducted by Dr. Jodi Mindell of Philadelphia’s Saint Joseph University.
Mindell followed the routines of more than four hundred mothers. About fifty percent of the mothers have kids ages seven to eighteen months while the remaining fifty are for mothers with kids ages eighteen to thirty-six months old.
The bedtime routine include a 30-minute ritual that include a bath, massage, other restful activities such as telling the kids some good bedtime stories. Results revealed that these kids slept more soundly and woke less often in the middle of the night. In the toddlers group, most wake up on a better mood.
The kids’ good mood also affects the mothers’ behavior as well since they’ll also have a great day free of stressful crying for kids.
It’s been a longtime advice for parents to have regular nighttime routine for their kids. This time, the study proves there are benefits from doing this.
Better sleep means better dreams for kids. The results of the study also give a message for parents to set time for their kids at this early stage in order to build a bond.
