Dream explained by UK university professor
Author: Willow // Category: Dreams Interpretation, dreamsRoehampton University professor Claus Vögele wrote a piece in the Telegraph recently about what he had learnt from a talk conducted by a Harvard professor on dreams. The professor, Allan Hobson, had the dreams explained in terms on how it gives meaning to people’s lives.

It’s always a common wonder for people to wonder what dreams mean. According to Hobson, who has conducted research in REM sleep, dreams are actually not a way of dealing with the past but rather on coping with the picture. In fact, people dream “consciously” and not “unconsciously” because there’s the automatic preparation for the day ahead.
Hobson pointed out that most of the dreams are perceived to be bad ones, the common theme revolving on anxiety, fear and anger. He said that dreams give people the “worst case” scenarios in order for that person to find a way to deal with it once he or she wakes up. By being aware of these scenarios, persons tend to find ways not to let these happen.
There were many things discussed during the talk by Hobson. These new theories open new avenues for academics to determine what dreams mean and how it really affects the person’s perception of the future.
