Two foreign travelers currently in Vietnam are planning to tour around the country by using bicycles and wearing only their pyjamas. Their aim is to raise money for Cambodian orphans.

Tom Edwards, a former reporter for Guernsey Press and Vale-based Helen Bonnel came up with this idea after teaching the English language for two weeks at an orphanage somewhere in Siem Reap in Cambodia.

The couple is no longer new with this stunt. In the past, they have travelled in more than 1,500 kilometers in heavy traffic and even under heavy rains and massive heat as they go through the country with people barely speaking the English language.

Bonnel said that they were inspired by the orphans who are full of optimism and life despite the suffering they have to endure for the past years of having no parents to look up to. They said that they want to help the kids get proper clothing by coming up with this challenging task.

Dreaming of dogs is a normal occurrence especially if the dreamer is a dog-lover. In Saudi Arabia, a school is offering an undergraduate and doctorate degrees for the aforementioned topic.

Dream interpreter Yusuf al-Harthy said that he’s planning to set up this course in his institute. He said that he will be offering bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees for those who want to explore the realms of dream interpretation and deciphering the images seen by the people in their sleep.

This development was announced by al-Harthy in a magazine interview last weekend.

The dream interpreter said that he’s been managing an instructional site in deciphering the meaning of dreams. He said that his academy will be linked with a known Arab university. He said that he won’t mention the name for now until final negotiations have been straightened out.

Nightmarish dreams seemed to have piqued the interest of the American public after the film “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” a remake of the blockbuster 1984 horror/slasher film topped the North American box office in its opening weekend – taking more than $32.9 million. The film remake has been produced by Time Warner Inc.’s New Line studio.

The movie, which features a disfigured serial killer with bladed gloves and terrorizes the teens in their dreams, still attracted people to watch this on the big screen. This was one of the top performing films in 1984.

Analysts predict that the film will take a minor drop next week due to the highly anticipated release of “Iron Man 2.” The interest will still be there according to critics because horror films continue to attract interests of people in any age group.

The slasher film is expected to do well in overseas markets.

A sudden fire that took place at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate this week forced guests to vacate in their dressing gowns.

The New Yorkshire Police confirmed that there were casualties from the fire, particularly in the fifth floor of the hotel. The authorities said that they have yet to identify the victim whether it was a hotel staff or a guest.

A spokesman for the police said that they are not in the position to release the identity of the victim as they are still investigating on the cause and circumstances of the hotel fire.

The guests were allowed to go back to the hotel a few hours after to retrieve their things.

More than 150 guests and employees rushed to the four-star hotel’s car park when the fire broke out at five in the morning.
